The Davao Coffee Circle began with a conversation among friends, all fellow café owners. An idea casually discussed over drinks became a movement — to elevate the local coffee scene and strengthen our community.
The Circle aims to promote not just our homegrown businesses, but the culture of support built by the city’s coffee enthusiasts — whether they are suppliers, industry educators, baristas, café hoppers, creatives, or simply consumers.
We want to position Davao as a top destination for coffee not only based on the number of cafés that we have or our proximity to abundant coffee farms, but also by the passion through which we’ve cultivated our local talents, engaged our consumers, and created meaningful bonds within the scene.
The Davao Coffee Fest is just one of the avenues that the Circle is planning to use to actualize its vision. It was first organized last year as a culmination of the Coffee Month 2023 festivities, with different activities to cater the diverse groups within the community — competitions for baristas and homebrewers, panel talks for enthusiasts and consumers, and booths for business owners and industry suppliers.
